BAC-DDRHA

BAC-DDRHA Double Leaf Domed Aluminum Equipment Hatch

Moving large equipment, tools, or machinery to and from the rooftop can be a frustrating challenge, especially when standard access hatches don’t provide enough clearance. Tight spaces make lifting and maneuvering difficult, increasing the risk of damage to equipment and adding unnecessary strain on workers.

The BAC-DDRHA Double Leaf Domed Aluminum Equipment Hatch eliminates these obstacles with its double-leaf design, offering a wider opening for effortless equipment transfers.

Plus, its domed acrylic panels allow natural light to brighten the space below, reducing reliance on artificial lighting and creating a more comfortable work environment.

Why Choose the BAC-DDRHA?

  • Effortless Equipment Access: The double-leaf design provides a wider opening, making it easy to transport large equipment, tools, and machinery without obstruction.
  • Hands-Free Operation: Automatic hold-open arms keep the hatch securely open, allowing maintenance crews to work safely and efficiently without needing extra support.
  • Improved Work Environment: The domed design prevents water pooling while also allowing natural light inside, creating a brighter and more functional space.
  • Weather-Resistant & Durable: Constructed from 11-gauge aluminum with a 22-gauge liner, this hatch withstands harsh conditions while preventing rust and corrosion.
  • Reliable Insulation & Sealing: A continuous bulb neoprene gasket and insulated cover help maintain indoor temperatures, reducing energy loss and enhancing building efficiency.

Installation Instructions

  1. Check the Roof Opening: Make sure the opening matches the BAC-DDRHA size, keeping in mind the clear opening is 8" smaller in both width and length. Clear away any debris and ensure the surface is flat.
  2. Position and Secure the Hatch: Place the BAC-DDRHA over the opening, making sure it’s properly aligned. Use the right anchors or fasteners (Note: not included in the unit) to attach the curb securely to the roof structure.
  3. Seal for Protection: Apply a roofing sealant around the curb to keep out water and prevent leaks.
  4. Test the Hatch: Open both leaf doors using the handles and check that the hold-open arms lock in place. Make sure the compression springs work smoothly and that the neoprene gasket seals tightly when closed.
