BAC-RVFV

BAC-RVFV Double Door Domed Smoke Vent

In a fire emergency, thick smoke and toxic fumes can spread rapidly, reducing visibility, making evacuation difficult, and increasing the risk of suffocation. Without an effective ventilation system, heat buildup can also accelerate fire damage, putting lives and property at greater risk.

The RVFV Double-Door Domed Smoke Vent provides a reliable solution by automatically opening to release smoke and heat, improving air quality and visibility for safer evacuations.

Its double-leaf design creates a larger opening, allowing smoke to escape more quickly and preventing dangerous buildup inside the building. The vent also comes with shock absorbers and torsion springs, ensuring smooth, controlled opening even under pressure.

Why Choose the BAC-RVFV?

  • Maximized Smoke Ventilation: Its double-leaf design creates a larger opening, allowing smoke and heat to escape quickly, reducing fire intensity and improving visibility for safer evacuations.
  • Automatic Fire Response: The UL 793-listed 165°F fusible link ensures the vent opens at the right moment, eliminating the need for manual operation during emergencies.
  • Enhanced Energy Efficiency: Acrylic domes allow natural daylight into the building, reducing the reliance on artificial lighting and lowering energy costs.
  • Durable & Weather-Resistant: The 14-gauge galvanneal steel curb and aluminum cover provide long-lasting performance, withstanding harsh weather and ensuring structural integrity.
  • Secure & Airtight Seal: BAC-RVFV has a bulb neoprene gasket which prevents air leaks and moisture infiltration, maintaining indoor conditions and protecting building materials from potential damage.

Looking to improve your rooftop access? Smoke vents keep the air clear, but a properly installed roof hatch makes getting there easy. Read our blog on how to install a roof hatch for a simple step-by-step guide!

Installation Instructions

  1. Prepare the Roof Opening: Cut an opening that matches the ordered size. Ensure the opening is level and properly framed for support.
  2. Position the Smoke Vent: Lift and place the BAC-RVFV over the prepared roof opening. Align the 14-gauge galvanneal steel curb properly with the opening for a secure fit.
  3. Secure the Unit: Fasten the vent’s curb to the roof structure using appropriate anchors or fasteners, to ensure a stable and secure installation. Note: The necessary anchors or fasteners for securing the vent are not provided with the BAC-RVFV unit. Installers need to use appropriate fasteners based on the roof type and building specifications.
  4. Test the Operation: Manually release the hold-open arm to check that the doors open smoothly and without obstruction. Ensure the 165°F UL 793-listed fusible link is properly installed so the vent will activate automatically in a fire.

Ready to upgrade your building’s ventilation? The BAC-RVFV Double-Door Domed Smoke Vent quickly clears smoke, enhances airflow, and brings in natural light.
